December, 2009 Between 20 and 25 new entrants, mostly from Queenstown Primary School, will start school all over again on February 4 next year.They will be the first pupils of the long-awaited new Remarkables Primary School, which principal Debbie Dickson said was aiming at this stage to open with a roll of 60 children. The flash new school on the Frankton lakefront would open initially with year 1 and 2 pupils, made up of children from the two local kindergartens, City Impact Church early childhood centre, Arrowtown Preschool, ABC Montessori, Queenstown Primary School and Arrowtown School, Mrs Dickson said. Twenty of the pupils will come from Queenstown Primary School. Just two pupils from Arrowtown School would start 2010 at the new school, Arrowtown School principal Robin Harris said. One of those pupils is from a family of three, who would be starting at the school throughout the year and the start of 2011 as it opened to the different years. The school hoped to take possession of its new office/administration area, which would be the new early childhood centre, by January 21, Mrs Dickson said. A blessing of the new early childhood centre section of the dev- elopment would be held on January 11. That building would operate as the school's administration area, a fifth classroom and staff areas until term 2, when those sections were completed and the Frankton Playcentre and afterschool care would move into the early childhood centre. Queenstown Primary School pupils Diego Bianchi, Ruby Savidge and Benjamin Byers, all 5, were looking forward to being the big kids at the new school next year. But not everything would be new to these tiny tots - their 2009 Room 27 teacher Lara Moss was also moving to the new school next year.
