February, 2010 The Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust is seeking expressions of interest from potential commercial operators for its development at Lake Hayes Estate.This project is a component of stage 2 of the Nerin Square village site on the corner of Hope Avenue and Onslow Road. Already zoned for commercial activities, the Trust is currently in the building design phase with local architects and intends to commence construction in the latter half of this year. Deputy chairman Barry Robertson said he believed the location of the commercial precinct is ideally placed for small scale businesses. The feedback from the local community has revealed an overwhelming desire for a corner diary/café so we are very keen to progress this concept. The trust recently completed stage 1 comprising five brand new 3 bedroom homes which were all pre-sold into the popular Shared Ownership programme.
