July, 2019 A second boutique hotel business on the fringe of Queenstowns CBD hasbeen snapped up by high-end Singapore hotel group Naumi Hotels. This month it settled on award-winning, 14-suite Central Ridge, in Sydney Street, just over a month after buying The Dairy Private Hotel on the corner of Brecon and Isle Sts. A local realtor involved says there was a large amount of interest in the property. The rooms are very large for downtown Queenstown, which is a bit of a bonus these days, he says. Naumi Hotels also has hotels open or under development in Singapore, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington, and had wanted to add Queenstown because its tourism prospects are very positive. Australia and New Zealand chief operating officer Chris McIntosh says, like The Dairy, Central Ridge will undergo a phased renovation to elevate its offerings, while remaining open. Queenstown now makes up 40 percent of the groups NZ portfolio. Source: Mountain Scene
