August, 2019 Its big, flash, and possibly the first of many.Were talking about the proposed new, multi-million dollar parking building on Queenstowns Boundary Street, which will likely to cater to 232 cars. The first designs for the building were made public this week as part of the councils resource consent application. According to the design report, its budget shouldnt exceed $24.5 million. Five per cent of the parking spaces will also have electric car-charging points, and the infrastructure will allow for more to be added in the future. Its likely to be the first of several new parking buildings around town. revealed a few weeks ago that the council reckons we need 1100 new covered parks within walking distance of the town centre by 2022.
