November, 2020 Jacks Points first childcare centre could open next year ifQueenstowns council gives the go-ahead. Remarkable Start Property Ltd has applied for resource consent for the centre, along with a possible healthcare facility on the first floor, on a 3665sqm site on Maori Jack Road. The two-storey building, which will be near the settlements new village hub development, will accommodate up to 100 kids and 15 staff on the ground floor, and have an extensive outdoor play area. The healthcare facility could have up to nine staff. Directors Debs McKerchar and Candice Stewart, who have a waiting list at their existing childcare centre next to Wakatipu High School, say they hope to open the new centre by mid to late next year.
