There was a total of 7,330 residential Housing sales throughout New Zealand during March 2012 compared with 5,848 in March 2011 and 6,168 sales in February 2012. The March ten year average for the Number of Sales is 8,476. It took an average of 35 days to sell a dwelling in March 2012 compared with 41 days in March 2011 and 46 in February 2012. The March five and ten year averages for the Median Number of Days to Sell are 39 and 34 respectively. The national Median Sale Price in March 2012 was $370,000 compared with $365,000 in March 2011 and $355,000 in February 2012.
During the past six months there has been a total of 33,902 sales. This compares with 27,040 for the same period last year and 31,960 for the previous year. During the past twelve months there has been a total of 65,239 sales. This compares with 55,049 for the same period last year and 68,857 for the previous year.
During the past six months the median number of Days to Sell has averaged 39, compared to 45 for the same period last year and 37 for the previous year. During the past twelve months the median number of Days to Sell has averaged 40, compared to 44 for the same period last year and 38 for the previous year.
